Filler syringes and cost by area

Ranges commonly used in practice, in standard 1 mL syringes of hyaluronic acid filler, at a typical $600–$1,000 per syringe.

AreaTypical syringesTypical costNotes
Lips and mouth
Lips0.5–1$300–$1,000Many first treatments use half a syringe. Some people build to two over several visits.

Marionette lines1–2$600–$2,000—
Cheeks, eyes and temples
Cheeks1–3$600–$3,000A subtle refresh can use one syringe; restoring significant volume loss takes more.
Under-eyes (tear troughs)0.5–1$300–$1,000One syringe is usually shared between both eyes. A delicate area — choose an experienced injector.
Temples1–2$600–$2,000—
Chin and jaw
Chin1–2$600–$2,000—
Jawline2–4$1,200–$4,000The largest area by volume, so usually the biggest single cost.

Indented acne scars1–2$600–$2,000Works best for rolling scars. Sharp “icepick” scars usually respond better to microneedling or laser.

Not every filler is priced the same way

These figures assume hyaluronic acid filler — the Juvéderm, Restylane and RHA families — sold by the 1 mL syringe. Collagen stimulators such as Sculptra and Radiesse are priced differently (Sculptra by the vial) and are used for different goals, so ask for those separately.

Common questions

How much is lip filler?
Most lip treatments use half a syringe to one syringe of hyaluronic acid filler. At a typical $600–$1,000 per syringe, that comes to roughly $300–$1,000. RealSelf patients report paying $660 on average, and Los Angeles prices run higher, averaging around $950 per syringe.
How many syringes of filler do I need for my lips?
Most first treatments use half to one syringe (0.5 to 1 mL). Many injectors start conservatively, let the filler settle for about two weeks, and add more at a follow-up if you want it. Some people build up to two syringes over several visits.
Can I get half a syringe of filler?
Some practices offer half syringes, most often for lips or a first treatment. How a half syringe is priced varies between practices, so ask how it is charged when you book.
How much does cheek, chin or jawline filler cost?
These areas take more product than lips, so they cost more. At typical US prices, cheeks usually take one to three syringes ($600–$3,000), the chin one to two ($600–$2,000) and the jawline two to four ($1,200–$4,000).
How long does filler last?
Anywhere from about four months to a year, depending on the product and the area treated. Areas that move a lot, like the lips, tend to wear sooner than the cheeks or chin.
Is filler covered by insurance?
No. Filler is a cosmetic treatment, so it is paid for out of pocket.
Can this tool tell me how much filler I need?
No, and it deliberately doesn't try. It shows the ranges commonly used for each area so you know roughly what to expect and can compare quotes. How much you need is decided in person by your injector, based on your anatomy and the result you want.
